Welcome to the Southern Nevada Gem & Mineral Society, a nonprofit educational community service organization, sharing our love of the lapidary arts, rocks, and minerals.

Based in Las Vegas Nevada, serving the Southern Nevada area, we started in 1930 as the Prospector's Club and are one of the oldest recorded groups of its kind in the United States.
​
The purpose of SNGMS is to promote interest and education in earth sciences, mineralogy, gemology, and to foster the exchange of knowledge in the lapidary arts. 
 

Our meetings are on the first Monday of each month (except December) at 6 PM. If the first Monday is a holiday, the meeting is on the second Monday. This occasionally changes, so check our Events for more information. Visitors are welcomed at all our meetings. Next meeting is June 1st.  We meet at:
